Bricking It Comedy CIC is a community-led comedy organisation using laughter to build confidence, connection, and better mental wellbeing.

We run relaxed, inclusive comedy nights where first-timers, returning performers, and seasoned comics all feel welcome.

Our events are pressure-free, well-hosted, and focused on real humour, not egos. We work with local venues to bring life to quieter nights while creating safe, supportive stages for people who don’t always feel “industry-ready” but absolutely belong.

Why We Exist
Bricking It exists because of a moment many performers know too well. Turning up to an open mic on the reserve list, hopeful, prepared, thinking you’ll get a short set — only to be told, bluntly, no space. Even after travelling.

Even after waiting. Even after being ready. That moment became the decision.
 

We created Bricking It Comedy CIC so no one would be dismissed like that again. Our nights are built on respect — if you turn up, you matter. We don’t shut doors for the sake of ego or gatekeeping. We don’t freeze people out.
At Bricking It, we don’t refuse spots unless the gig is genuinely over — and even then, we’ve been known to reopen the floor on occasions. Because comedy should feel welcoming, not punishing.
